THE WORD is out about the childminding facilities
at both North and West Vancouver YMCAs.

The North Shore Family YMCA offers childmin-
ding at a nominal fee, for the children of fitness class
participants while they attend morning fitness classes.

The facilities permit the acceptance of children right
from infancy, so mothers can quickly get back into,
or start, an exercise program after childbirth.

Qualified staff and co-op parents provide a safe,
fun and nurturing environment for children, from in-
fants to preschoolers. Activities vary from day to day,
with the emphasis on socialization and creative play.

Childminding is available on a drop-in, sessionafly
prepaid or co-op basis.

Opportunities to join the co-op for the fall session

Our Senior Citizen Day is a great way for
you to buy all the things you want for
yourself or your grandchildren. Since
some of you look younger than you are,
just bring proof of age (Senior Citizen’s
card, birth certificate, driver’s license, etc.)

In return for one hour per week of assisting in the
childminding facilities, co-op parents receive unlimi-
ted childminding for their children during the rest of
the week while they exercise.

West Vancouver YMCA at 1735 Inglewood Ave.
offers childminding seven days a week, in conjunction
with its fitness class schedule.

North Vancouver YMCA at 440 Hendry St. offers
childminding Monday through Friday. Extended
hours of operation at each facility allow parents to
have a coffee and shower after class.
