A PORT Coquitlam man faces
a charge of aggravated assault
after he allegedly threw a beer
bode at a man in a West
Vancouver nightclub.

that the victim will lose the use of
his right eye,” said West Vancouver
Police Set. Barry Nickerson on
Wednesday.

Richard George-A}len Dean, 21,
was charged with aggravated
assault in connection with an Oct.
29 incident at Dewey Pardie and
Howe.

The injured North Vancouver
man, age 20, sustained the eye
injury. a fractured check bone in
three places, possible fractures in
the jaw and the loss of a tooth,
according ta the West Vancouver
Police (WYP). No one else was
injured in the incident.

Police say that. Dean allegedly
threw the beer bottle after someone
in the Marine Drive club spilled a
drink on him around midnight.

Police say the victim was seated
at another able. The victint was not
the person who spilled the drink on
the accused man, said police.

The beer bottle did nat shatter in

_ the incident. The injuries resulted

from “strictly impact and force” of
the bottle, said police.

Dean fled the drinking establish-
ment and was later arrested outside
of West Vancouver. He was released
from custody:
