Mitchell said he pointed out some of the problem areas of the Sea-to-Sky highway to Transportation and Highways Minister Art Charbonneau dur- ing debate in the legislature on the spending estimates for the ministry. Mitchell added that he was glad that Charbonneau has reviewed the safety needs along Highway 99 and has now ad- dressed some of the danger areas. “Mr. Charbonneau should be commended for his con- sultative approach. Not only did he listen, he also respond- ed. I hope this is a sign of things to come from his ministry,’’ said Mitchell. Cost figures for the new im- provements have yet to be released. The highways ministry has said it will also review the signage along highway curves and that rock scaling will con- tinue between Horseshoe Bay and Squamish. Mitchell noted that $4.75 million will be spent this fiscal year to resurface the 22-. kilometre stretch of road be- tween Brandywine and 19-mile Creek. : We’re on the move | Our move to offices at 333 Dunsmuir Street (between Hamilton and Homer), Vancouver is almost comnlete.
