Post box increase is ‘daylight robbery’ Dear Editor: E would like to draw your auen- tion to “method of combativeness drive’? by our beloved Canada Post. While visiting my post office box at the main Post Office at Lower Lonsdale [ was embarrass- ingly informed by the clerk that rates for P.O. boxes would be go- ing up for my next years’ rental. This did not come as a total surprise (after all, what isn't going up next year?), but to be told what the amount was. For all you folks cagerly awaiting the new rate, here it is: $50 for the smallest of boxes and the vear’s rental. Even the postal clerk who gave me this joyful piece of informa- tior, had difficulty accepting the justification for this ‘daylight robbery”’ increase. When pressed on why the rates are going up by almost 8O per cent, | was told that there husn’t been an in- crease for five years and io be more competitive rates are coming in line with other countries. Because countries like tie ULK., Germany and the fikes have higher box rates why should it follow that Canada Post has to be in line? 1 for one welcome free enterprise and healthy competition § RE-ELECT — it's time to get rid of Canada § Post’s management team.
