Options for N. Shore volunteers

MANY REQUESTS for volunteers
are received cach week by the
North Shore Informzcion and
Volunteer Centre. Here are just a
few:

ACTIVITY AIDE for a_ teen
drop-in centre in West Vancouver
which operates Friday and Satur-
day nights 7 to 11 p.m. Activities

include Noor hockey, movies, poo!
etc. Volunteer should be over 20
years of age and enjoy teens.

PROGRAM AIDE - PRESCHOOL
needed at a program held Tuesday
and Thursday morngins from 9 to
11:30 a.m. at a recreation centre.
Children need assistance putting on
shoes etc. and also when playing
outside.

monthly meeting of a family court
committee. Confidentiality is im-
portant with this referral. Typing

SHOPPERS/VISITORS for the
frail and elderly trying to remain in
their own homes as long as possi-
ble. A couple of hours a week
would be such a help to these peo-
ple. Volunteers are needed in both

photographic gallery taking admis-
sions and answering questions.
Also selling books and posters.
Volunteer should enjoy working
with the general public and an in-
terest in photography would be
helpful.

TYPIST for a few hours a week

needed by a local dance founda-
tion. Work could be done at home
if volunteer has typewriter, or at
their office which is open 9 a.m. to
7 p.m.
