The four-day tournament, played over the Thanksgiv- ing weekend at Richmond's Minoru Park, pitted the six best teams from across Canada against each other in a round-robin competition. The Falcons opened with a thundering 9-0 destruction of the Regina Celtics on Fri- day, a game highlighted with a five-goal performance by Lynn Valley’s amazing striker Jack Wendt. Mark Tompkins added a pair, while wingers Paul Dailly and Steve Perry, with W. Van singles, rounded out the scoring for the Faleons, who whipped four goals benvcen Celtic goal posts ino a seven-minute span in the se- cond half. Goalkeeper Stephen Hayes-Richard — re- corded the shutout, But the Falcons faltered on Sunday, dropping a 4-1 decisian to the disciplined Ontario squad. Lotteries Fund to build a clubhousé at Hugo Ray Park. “Tam very happy for the association,’’ said West Vancouver-Howe Sound MLA John Reynolds, ‘‘They have done a tremendous job over the years to promote sport among youth and their proposal to build a clubhouse is a very wor- thwhile project.” It is estimated the cost of the clubhouse will be $150,000. The lottery grant represents one-third of the * cost.
