I consider?

According to the people

who know best - cruise line
personnel - any cruise under a
week's length is too short. Jt
takes a coup!e of days to relax,
settle in, get to know a few
people and establisti your
favorite routines.

There’s some disagreement
about the best maximum
length - should it be 14 days
or 21 days? The longest cruise
I’ve taken was 17 days, from
Buenos Aires, via Rio to
Barcelona and Genoa.

Although we were having a-
wonderful time, but the end of
17 days we were quite happy
to pack up and leave. For me,
11 to 14 days is ideal.

What else do you consider
when choosing 2 cruise?

*! like lots of stops at in-
teresting ports. One of the best
cruises I’ve taken was one
Il-day visit. to the Eastern
Mediterranean with stops in
israel, Egypt, Greece, Turkey,
Yugoslavia and Italy.

ej like a cruise that features
gambling tables as well as slot
machines - mind you, that’s
backfired on occasion when
I've played with more en-
thusiasm than skill.

®] don’t care what na-
tionality is steering the ship
but I’m always glad to. see
Italians in the kitchen and din-
ing room. :

* try to choose a cabin‘in
the centre of the ship - it gets
less rock-and-roll than the ex-
treme ends. If I can afford it,
I like to have a porthole - even
though the last one | had was
half under water! And I prefer
beds to berths even though
Brian provides the comic relief
climbing into the “upper’’.
