Should we travel or stay at home? big events have come about in my life. I have chosen early retirement, at the age of 59. I have mar- ried again after seven years of being on my own, and my new wife and I have purchas- ed a lovely new home and have moved into it. My wife is 5l-years-old and she too had a period of about four years of living on her own after her first husband died. She has not yet quit working and does not want to do so for two years, or perhaps just one year. My wife has a married daughter who lives in the Maritimes. I have two boys, 31 and 28, both of whom are married, one living in the UESTION: Inthe Q past few months three States and the other = in Quebec. “Our financial cir- cumstances are very good. We can do what we want to do and there is no real need for my wife to keep on work- ing. I tell you all this about my wife and our respective offspring and our finances in order for you to understand that we really are quite free to follow almost any style of life we choose. I hesitate to ask my ques- tion because even my wife and I, as recently as last night, were laughing together about what a ridiculous ques- tion it is. If it seems funny to us, | suppose you will con- sider it hilarious. Anyway, Annual 1 to 4 pm INDOOK SWIMMING, Clab bras ter offer @Q& put your waste on a diet RECYCLE. s Hollyburn +. But let’s consider it as you’ve stated it. Why not respect your wife’s urge to work another year or two and use that time for settling in and staying put? During that time, plan your travelling carefully. Study up on the countries you'll be visiting. Do a lot of travel-long in your imagination, using as aids, pictures, books, tapes etc. Have a great time getting ready. Then, when your wife wants to retire, you'll be all ready to celebrate by indulg- ing in some REAL travelling. It sounds so easy. ~ QUESTION: 1 don’t think you've ever written anything about the raging abortion issue. Why not? Are you pro- life or pro-choice? STEWART: Yes. In a great majority of pregnancies, my bias would be to avoid abortion And in every solitary in- stance of pregnancy that calls for a choice my bias would be to respect the woman's right to make the choice, whether it would be my choice or not. And, whatever her choice, | would hope she would have adequate help in working her way through it with benefit to all concerned. Buy it “subject to a BCAA inspection” and have it checked by BCAAs Inspection Centre or Mobile Inspection Service. Our computers and trained mechanics can check out over 200 potential trouble spots. Or confine their checks to any area you're Particularly worried about. And partial checks can cost as little as $15. We don't sell parts or do repairs so our inspection is honestly unbiased. But we can estimate the cost of repairing any faults we find. And if you have us check the car before you hand over your money, you'll have a great bargaining tool.
