Edgemont Village merchants organized another successful community
celebration on June }1 that was enjoyed by all, especially four-year-old
Karman Dalton, below. The Bavarian Fest float in the June Day parade,
right, advertised another popular community event coming up Sept. 10.

Credit union celebrates

THE VILLAGE branch of the
North Shore Credit Union ‘is
celebrating the completion of six
months of renovations with a July
9 open house.

The branch has expanded into
half of what used to be Brownie’s
Chicken next door, and installed a
large, unitized vault that will put
many more safety deposit boxes at
the members’ disposal.

Another major addition has
been the installation of an ATM,
the credit union’s automated bank-
ing machine. Because ATMs are
part of the Interac, Strata and Ex-
change networks, customers from

other banks can access their ac-
counts using their bank card in the
ATM machine. .

Branch manager Penny Downie
says the credit union is inviting
both members and: non-members
to drop in on Saturday for cake
and other refreshments, helium
balloons, posters and gifts.

Extra staff will also be on hand
to field any questions.

The North Shore Credit Union
established its Village branch 10
years ago, and since that time
Downie says it has ‘‘grown
drastically.’’
