MLS sales are forecast to reach a record level of 44,100 units in 1989 and 49,500 units in 1990. The previous record was in 1988 when 39,084 sales were re- corded. Sales of single detached units are forecast to rise by 14 per cent in 1989 to 34,400 units and 12 per cent in 1990 to 38,600 units. The supply of single fami- ly houses coming on the market next year will remain high with new _ listings forecast to be 57,160 units in 1990. The condominium sales market will also be strong in 1990. In Greater Vancouver, sales are projected to be up by 14 per cent this year to 9,700 units, and by another 14 per cent in 1990 to 11,100 units.
