it is back to work for North Shore students. Schools
reopened Tuesday for the 1986-87 year. It is usually a
time of apprehension and anxiety for tocal children.
Gone are the warm lazy days when children can spend

their time playing baseball or lounging on the beach.
Now it is back to school, back to teachers and back to
text books. This week, Inquiring Reporter asks some
local students how they feel about the new schoo! year.

WEST VANCOUVER Police
Department reports a dramatic in-
crease in the number of break and
enter complaints in West Van-
couver,

Cst. Dave Bingham of Crime
Prevention said 82 such complaints
were made to the department in
the month of July alone.

Police have arrested four
groups, believed to be responsible
for approximately 75 per cent of
the offences, said Bingham.

Bingham said some of the ar-
rests made were as a result of citi-
zens reporting suspicious activity.

He said the continued support of
the community is essential to con-

trol this particular crime.
