PHOTOS BY MIKE WAKEFIELD FOURTEEN gymnasts from the North Shore will be in Quebec this weekend for the Canadian Cham- pionships being held in Chicoutimi May 22 to 25. The four seniors and five juniors presently train in North Vancouver under the 1988 Best Ever Program. They will be joined in Quebec by their new coach Sona Kobylakova, former head coach of the Czechslovakian national team. The four seniors are led by pro- vincial “and western champion Sandra Botnen, 16, who, along with 17-year-old Tracy Wilson, is ranked in the Canadian top 10, pring Servi in effect "til: May 31/86. 99% 3 The pair finished eighth and llth respectively at the nationals last year. The other two B.C. seniors arc Miriam Michel and Kristin Wingfield both 15 year olds are in the top 25 of the country. Five of the six-rmember junior B.C. team are with the Best Ever Program. They include provincial champion Jeanette Hrubes, 15, of Kelowna, 14-year-old Ursula Trpin of North Vancouver, Surrey’s Lisa Onno, 15, and Michelle Burr, 16, of Coquitlam, The quartet finished in the top four places at t the recent provincial championships, Heather Andrews, 14, of Kelowna was B.C.'s top junior at the first national selection com- petition of the year in March, The sixth member of the junior team is Prince George’s Ginger Ferns.
