Montreal artist shows work in WV AN EXHIBIT of works by Mon- treal painter Therese Lacasse opens at Scaldaferri’s in West Vancouver this weekend. Lacasse is foremost a colorist, incorporating blues, greens and greys into her abstract images. Her paintings are an attempt by Lacasse to create a dialogue be- tween people and space. “I see my paintings as frag- ments of life...a continuous im- age...a slow process from piece to Piece, each becoming an island occupied by the rhthym of realism that never ends to become,”* Lacasse says of her work. Viewers can catch Lacasse’s work at Scaldaferri’s until the end of the month. MS group starts up A SUPPORT group which calls itself Attitudinal Healing has started on the North Shore for people with Multiple Sclerosis. The group will provide an op- portunity to come together with others to share experiences, strengths and hopes. The focus is on learning to direct yourself to be peaceful inside, regardless of what is happening outside. The group meets from 7 to 9 p.m. on the third Monday of every month at Lions Gate Hospi- tal. For more information, call Liz at 987-3575, On Thursday, Nov. I5 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Friday, Nov. 16 from 9:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., residents can drop off eyeglasses for the program. OEU says there is an urgent need for 10,600 pairs of children’s glasses.
