a knock comes at the door. It’s the social-worker cop squad
and it marches in and tells you that you are not fit to look
after your kids. So they’re taken away.

The snatching of children from
their parents at the behest of some
‘bureaucrat. happens every day in
B.C. And the parents may never
see their offspring again. In a few
cases this may be necessary. In

Like most of these things, the
system of informing on parents
was set up with the best of inten-
tions, The reasoning is that every
sane person is opposed to child
abuse, therefore no sane person
can be opposed to what is being

suicide. She got to do much as she

“My mother shakes me and gives

darling.

The social worker who ‘‘saddl-
ed up” to deal with this case was
totally unqualified to deal with it,
said the doctor, and if the parents
hadn’t already been consulting
him goodness knows what would

were, the mother was so afraid

their children, wrote Dr. Millar,
