iran hit by
zipper shortage

TEHRAN, Iran (UPI) - Iran

is facing a shortage of

zippers, the commercial
newspaper Bourse reported
recently.

The paper said the local
brand of zippers is neither
good nor easily available.

“Their supply in the last
few moaths has reached the

bottom, thus increasing the
price in the process,” Bourse
said.

The paper said new duties
and problems at Iran's ports
had led to the steady drop.

A zipper which cost 60
cents now can be had only
with difficulty for no less
than $1.30, he said.
