Main feature of Totem fares, which are subject to government approval, is that they will be available year ~ round rather than just for the seven-week “spring sale” discounts recently proposed . for mainline cross-Canada _routes. Another innovation is that there is no minimum mileage, thus permitting travel on all sectors of the | B.C.-Yukon-Alberta route pattern. Present low-cost _charter class Canada fares require a minimum trip of 400 miles. The CCC rates will be replaced on April 17 by the Totem fares, which . will offer even greater discounts. ae CP Air also announced that travellers to and from its B.C.-Yukon-Alberta routes will share in the seven-week “spring sale” deep discount mainline cross-Canada routes from March 27 through May 7, subject to government approval. These temporary bargains will apply to trips which include travel on mainline sectors, with substantial discounts in most cases in excess of 50 per cent. The new Totem fares apply to trips of from seven to 30 days with a seven-day advance purchase condition.
