a A EEN ERROR ec erie a We are learning alot! the new Reagan ministration and in many respects it runs a close parallel to the actions of the District of North Vancouver Council, i.e: guns aré good, so is pollution. Take garbage for instance. One must look on one’s problems as opportunities. As North Shore Residents we all know of the serious economics of our North Shore ski resorts without snow. The loss of jobs to North Shore residents, the loss of tourist dollars, the loss of income to North Shore sports shops and so on. The reason for the lack of snow on our mountains is geographical and we all know that man _ controls nature, and that with man’s wisdom, man can do anything. In their wisdom, ‘the District of North Vancouver counci] is requesting more and ever more garbage. The District council does not want the residents to recycle any resaleable commodity such as newspapers, glass, and metals. They have forced recycling services to discontinue service in the District in an attempt to draw in more garbage. I believe that the District council has a plan. They intend to build a mountain high enough to hide the decaying remnants of our society under aé_ virgin blanket of snow. They plan to defeat nature and return jobs, tourism, and income to the residents of the North Shore. _ And those com- plainers, the ones who enjoy the panoramic view of this mountain in its early stages from their ring-side seats in their living rooms, don’t know it yet but they are Sitting on a goldmine. Like Whistler, the Premier Street area real estate will skyrocket overnight. So fellow residents, don’t concern yourselves over your garbage quantities, throw it out, throw it ALL out, give. it all to that wonderful District council — who are only looking ‘towards a marveleous future of living on, around, and off of a mountainous pile of garbage, and let’s hope we aren’t suffocated or crushed in the process. Pamela Mislap West Vancouver Thanks from heart victim Dear Editor: My husband had a near fatal heart attack at West Vancouver Community Centre on October 18. I want to publicly thank Lynda Lyons for her quick first aid action, also the two inhalator men who took over until the ambulance arrived. Then he was rushed to Lions Gate with two men working steadily on him all the way. The immediate medical attention of doctors and nurses was exceptional and we greatly appreciate the wonderfui care and com- passion shown. Then on Saturday night at about 9:00 p.m., also in West Vancouver, I was walking quietly down a road when a large dog. came running and barking from a house, tore down the long length of the garden, across the road and bit me on the leg. Then it stood snarling at me until the owner called it off. I do not know what-I could have done if the owner had not been there. Now I love dogs and have until recently always had dogs around.
