Field hockey

The Third ORCA In-
vitational Field Hockey
Festival will be held-at Hugo
Ray Park, West Vancouver
August 29th and 30th from 9
a.m. to 6p. m. each day.

This yéar the Festival has
attracted more teams from
outside Canada than ever

before. There will be a total
of 14 mens teams and 12
womens teams participating
with entries from England,
Ireland, Mexico, California

and Washington as well as
West and North Vancouver
and Vancouver.

Most visiting teams will be
staying for a week and a full
Slate of ‘social activities,
tourist itinerary and ad-
ditional field hockey games
have been arranged.

Some teams will go on to
the Golden Gate Field
Hockey Festival in Berkeley,
California to be held Labour
Day weekend.

he West Vancouver
Aquatic Centre. will be

offering kayak classes for _

beginners to intermediate
paddlers this fall.

The courses are available
to teenagers 14-years-old
and up.

Times and dates for the
classes are as follows:

Three groups of Level |
classes will be held Wed-
nesday and Friday from 8:30
to 10:30 p.m. These classes
will be September 2,4,9 and
11; September 16,18,23 and
25; September 30, October
2,7,9.

Two groups of Level I
classes will be held Wed-
nesday and Friday from 8 to
10:30 p.m. and Saturday
from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The
course will be held October
14,16 and 47, and October
21,23 and 24. ,

The Level II group will
meet Saturday and Sunday

- from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on
October 31 and November 1.
