On Tuesday, Walters said fishing was good this year off the mouth of the Fraser River — und that’s it. “There's a few skilled people that are managing to catch fish,” Walters said. “For Georgia Strait as a whole, things are worse than they have ever been.” The fishing effort is down 50% : since the mid-!980s, meaning pco- ple are catching on that fishing is not worth the trouble, Walters added.
