Veterans VETERANS OF the Royal Canadian Navy and Merchant Seamen are hon- oring the 50th anniversary of the Battle of the Atlantic with a parade in North Vancouver this Sunday. The parade is set to form at the foot of Chesterfield Avenue in North Vancouver at 10 a.m. on Sunday, May 7. At 11 a.m., the veterans will meet at Sailor's Point, just west of the SeaBus Terminal on the North Shore waterfront. “The Battle of the Atlantic was the dominating factor all through the parading war,’ wrote Winston Churchill. “Never for one moment could we for- get that everything happening else- where depended ultimately on its out- come.” Canadian convoys transported 181 million tons of wartime materials and supplies.
