THE GRAIN Service Union
(GSU) reached a tentative set-
tlement of its contract dispute
Sept. 18.

Results of a membership vote
were unavailable to press time
Friday. According to union
spokesperson Hugh Wagner, the
principal issue was the employers’
demand that the protection from
contracting-out be removed from
five contracts between the GSU
and Saskatchewan Wheat Pool.
The North Vancouver facility was
picketed on Sept. 17.
