It is the middle home in a
grouping of three remaining
heritage homes on East Third
Street.

This house bears the name of its
first owner, Gwynne R. Hughes,
who also owned the house next
door to it at 154 East Third St.

An early tennant was a Mr.
Burns, who lived here with his
family.

For him it was a great location
because it was within walking
distance of the grocery store that
he operated in Lower Lonsdale.

Sue Chalmers, the current
owner, has spruced up this turn-
of-the-century home and is
operating it as Sue's Victorian
Guest House, where visitors can
stay in a heritage home in the
heart of the City of North Van-
couver, with easy access to many
major attractions on the North
Shore and Vancouver.
