A SINGLE-FAMILY home at 576
16th Street in West Vancouver is
competing with the ruins of Rome
as a ghetto for wild cats.

A neighbor, Joan Mustaklim,
recently registered a complaint
with West Vancouver District
Council through her lawyer, claim-
ing that there are ‘‘cight to 10°
cats running wild on the property,
formerly occupied by a Miss Well-
ington.

The cats also use Mustaklim’s
yard as a ‘‘cat box'', attracting
large numbers of flies.

The property fell into disrepair

last summer after
death. .

The new owners have allegedly
allowed garbage to be strewn all
over, while fruit from the fruit
trees has fallen and rotted, attrac-
ting rodents.

Mustaklim contacted the SPCA
and the Health Department last
summer, but has not seen any ac-
tion taken.

Council decided to ask the
SPCA and Health Department to
look into the matter again, and
advise them on any action that
should be taken.
