Most recently, Ms. Nahanee had chanelled his artistic passions into intricate beadwork. Born in 1903, one of 10 children, Pop Nahance believed in the therapeutic value of sport for young people. He was a boxer, a baseball and lacrosse player, and helped coach boxers in the Squamish Band's St. Paul's and Totem Athletic boxing clubs. He also helped restore the band’s St. Paul's church in 1951 when he rebuilt its altar, rebraced its west tower and built its base- ment. Mr. Nahanee is survived by sons Tom, Jackie, Wally, Wayne, Frank, Willie, Mellie and Gary; daughter Darlene; brother Ed; adopted daughter Wanda and grandson Kelly.
