HAD GUITAR FOR 20 YEARS Musician | SES prize instrument AFTER 20 years of constant musical companionship, North Vancouver’s Norm Glass lost his prize black Gibson electric guitar to thieves just before Christmas. Glass, a 43-year-old professional guitarist, is heartsick about it, his wife said Monday, and has offered a reward for the guitar’s return. “That's the only guitar he’s had all those years because he’s never wanted another,”’ his wife Debbie Glass said. ‘People recognize him by that guitar’s sound.” His wife said the solid body Les Pau! Custom has ivory inlay on its neck, three pick-ups and a bixby, a metal handle that modifies the guitar’s sound. On the guitar’s body is a small sticker with the name Debbie which faces Glass when he piays. Glass said her husband travelled from New York to Mexico and across Canada with the guitar. This summer he had all the ivory replaced and the guitar refinished because he had worn it down with use. Glass lost the guitar Dec. 19 when he was returning home from Haney alone. B.C, Transit spokesman George Stroppa said Tuesday the previous day’s ridership topped out at just under 10,000 people, a decrease from earlier this month. “The ridership is more evenly spread, instead of over two rush) hours,” said Stroppa, who noted commuter traffic is usually down over the holiday season. Holiday skiers, shoppers and vacationers are altering the SeaBus traffic flow, he said. ‘‘Schools are out sc we get a lot of that traffic,” said Stroppa. “The overall ridership is tradi- tionally less during this period,’ he added.
