The third annual North Shore News Safling Race is on for Sunday June 1, 1980. This year the course will be from Dundarave Pier, around the Point Grey Bell Buoy to port, to the centre channel marker south of Dundarave, across the inlet to the finish tine about one-half mile offi Kitsilano Beach. The race starts at 10:00 AM and ail entrants should report tu the Committee Boat at Dundarave Pier by 9:30 AM. Following the race, all boats are to anchor at the Granville Island Moorage for the post-race awards ceremonies and celebration, to be held at the North Shore Sailing School in Boaters’ Village. There will be prizes for everyone in addition to the special awards. Entry fee is $15 and all entry forms and fees should be in to the North Shore Sailing School by 5 PM Friday May 23. The pre-race skippers’ meeting will held Friday May 30, 7:30 PM at the North Shore Sailing School. Brian Morse will conduct the meeting, review the rules, and outline the alternate course for lack of wind. There will be films and slides afterwards and, of course, the bar will be open.
