Livid over loophole Dear Editor: Re: Loophole taps local ‘ learning Feb. 14 News, 1 am not xenophobic but this blanket and blatant abuse has ramifications fur beyond mere petty complaints. Despite what the paper believes is a fair exchange of cash for curriculum, it just is not.so simple. Yes, these students pay school tuition fees, but this money would be available if * people marched in the strects demanding transfer payments not be cut. The students pose another problem: they, in effect, take space and valuable time away from youngsters who live ful}-time in Canada. I do not begrudge any immigrant child to obtain an education, but who is to deter- mine if these .people will remain to contribute to our society or merely go to anuth- er nation offering Jucrative perks in job placement? All the while sucking on the teat of community services apart from school. The answer to this conun- drum is to require that immi- grants live in Canada with their children if they attend school here. .
