JON Moroury, who
beat a murder
charge last year, is a
wanted man.

In December, a B.C.
Supreme Court jury found
the former North Van man
not guilty in] Mohammed
Mirhadi’s first-degree murder.

Mirhadi was gunned down
in 1997, in the Famous
Players movie complex on
Esplanade. Moroury’s friend
Michae) Caster was convicted
last year for being the gunman
and is serving a life sentence.

According to North
Vancouver RCMP, Moroury,
21, retumed to B.C. from
England on a visiting permit
good for June 7 to June 14.
Said Const. Lee Gregor,
“Unless he’s taking a slow
boat or a Greyhound to
England, he’s still here.”

on a Canada-wide immigra-
tion warrant. Another man
charged in the Mirhadi inves-
tigation, Kamran
Mojrahedpour, is set for trial
for obstructing justice.

NORTH Vanccuver Canadian Alliance MP
Ted White is back on the government’s

pension plan.

White had campaigned against such pay raises and perks when
he first ran for office and was one of mam then-Reform MPs who
voted against the Liberal government's lucrative pension plan
when it was introduced in 1993,

However, a new government: bill which was passed in the
House of Commons Wednesday night has “forced” White back
onto the payroll.

The Chretien government launched the bill in an effort to
streamline the four existing pension plan arrangements in the
house and correct a flaw in previous legislation intended to pre-
vent MPs from “double-dipping” or collecting on more than one
public sector pension pl.
