Tug owner divests Dennis Washington, who's involved in the ownership of two North Vancouver tug and barge operations, has agreed to sell off assets to try to make the federal, 9=Competition Bureau happv. Washington agreed to sell six tugs and 12 barges to maintain control of North Vancouver's taternational, which acquired a significant interest in early last year. Washington already owned C,H. Cates and Sons. Washington also acquired control of Norsk Pacific Steamship Company, which had competed with Seaspan in barging services. The Competition Bureau hopes the asset sell-off will create competition in the tug and barge industries on the West Coast. Tax tips free The Certified General Accountants Association of British Columbia has offered what it calls an informative tax tips booklet free of charge.
