Jackson, he of the rumpled pro- fessor look, led a recent seminar at Earl's Tin Palace in North Van- couver. He talked beer, and a host of folk, including Table Hopping rep- resentatives, hoisted a brace of glasses filled with various brands and types of beer as we absorbed his enlightening message. Earl would like ta take a moment to salute chef Stewart Fuller. Stewart began his career way back in 1982 with Earls first restaurant in the Lower Mainland. Obviously, the business was to his liking because he's stiff at it and has worked his wily up fo a management position in the Earls organization. As his responsibilities grew through the 1980's, Stewart began to specialize in the training of people for new restitirant openings throughout Western Canada and the United States. Commencing in the fallof 1988, he spentia year as General Manager af Earls new location in San Frincisco. Beer, jackson will tell you, is drunk more widely around the world than wine but much less is known about beer and its countless virtues as a revitalizing beverage and a dining companion.
