in model contest

NORTH VANCOUVER teen
Eliza-Jayne Bayne will appear in

the January issue of "Teen Maga--

zine as a regional semi-finalist in
the 1992 Great Model Search.

Vancouver has been selected
as one of 480 regional semi-
finalists from 24,000 entrants

If Bayne, 16, is selected as the
Model Discovery of the Year, she
will receive a $5,000 award from
Maybelline, an appearance in a
national Maybelline ad and a
Sassaby cosmetics organizer. She
would also receive modelling op-
portunities with the program
sponsors.

Bayne is one of 480 regional
semi-finalists chosen from ap-
proximately 24,000 entrants. Six-
teen girls are selected in each of
the six regions for five months,
appearing in the January to May
issues.

The field is then narrowed to 16
“‘super’’ semi-finalists for each
region, and then finally to 12 fi-
nalists. The finalists receive an
all-expense paid trip to national
finals week.

The winner will appear on the
October cover of ’Teen. Such
sucessful models as Cheryl Tiegs,
Faith Ford of NBC’s Murphy
Brown, and Tiffani-Amber
Theissen of NBC’s Saved by the
Bell have on ’Teen’s cover.
