Society for disabled embarks on fundraisng drive

TRANSITIONS IS the theme of a
direct mail fundraising campaign
being undertaken by the North
Shore Association for the Physi-
cally Handicapped (NSAPH). The
theme was chosen because the
facilitating of transitions for peo-
ple with disabilities is one of the
major roles of the association.

xocacy, the North Shore Associa-
tion for the Physically Handi-
capped supparts and facilitates
these transitions.

Another important transition is
one which the association is
undergoing itself. In the past,
government grants and the United
Way have formed the financial
base for the NSAPH. Now, with
limited funding available and an
increasing need for their services,
NSAPH is beginning to establish

new ways to fund their programs.

This year’s direct mail campaign
is part of that initiative ... it too
represents a transition, Just as
its clients are making positive
changes and gaining self-sufficien-
ey and independence, the NSAPH
is standing on its own and making
positive strides towards financial
