Nv MAMERCE CELEBRATE OUR MAGNIFICENT WEST COAST SALMON The Greater Vancouver Regional District and Capilano College Outdoor Recreation are sponsoring this magnificent 7.5 K walk. The walk route follows woodland and mountain trails along Capilano Pacific Trail. There will be seven interpretive stations along the three-hour course back to Ambleside Park. At Cleveland Dam, The Freddie Fuddpucker Band and The No Frills String Band will provide entertainment. Shuttle buses leave Park Royal South (under the reader buard) to Cleveland Dam every 15 minutes from 10:00 am. to 2:00 p.m. The cost is $1.50 for adults and 75¢ for children. The terrain is rough, so please wear proper shoes. SEEING-EYE DOGS ON BUSES ONLY. All proceeds to go to Salmon Enhancement. Sunday, September 9 COHO RUN AMBLESIDE PARK 7:45 a.m, Warm-up 8:00 a.m. Start This 14 K run from Ambleside Park to Kitsilano Beach is organized by The North Shore YMCA. The route crosses the Lions Gate Bridge through Stanley Park, along Beach Avenue, over the Burrard Bridge into Vanier Park and to the pool at Kits Beach. An entry tee of $19.00 includes a T-shirt, Runners Breakfast and bus trip back to Ambleside for the awards ceremony. For more information contact the YMCA at 926-5541.
