NORTH VANCOUVER soccer
player Ken Harris has been award-
ed a $500 Diachem soccer scholar-
ship.

The 18-year-old Capilano Col-
lege student is one of six B.C.
recipients of the scholarship, which
has been established to help keep
talented B.C. soccer players in the
province.

Harris, a business administra-
tion student at the college, is in his
rookie year with the highly
respected Capilano College men’s
soccer Blues,

A graduate of the Lynn Valley
Falcons soccer program, Harris is
currently playing on centre and left
back with the Blues.

He has played soccer since
Grade 6.and has played with the
B.C. Selects and travelled to Mex-
ico during the summer with
Canada’s national youth team.

“I love the game,’’ Harris says.
“So it’s a special honor to be
selected (for the scholarship).’’

Blues coach Joe Iacobellis says
Harris has been one of the top

players in high school for the past
two years ‘‘and he’ll develop into
one of the top college players over
the next-three years. He is a natu-
ral left-footed player and he is
