With only five weeks to go before the new
Burrard Inlet ferry system begins its regular cross-
harbor schedule between the foot of Chesterfield
and the north foot of Granville it’s still anyone’s
guess whether the system will open up a new era

in urban transit or prove to be a $46 million lost
gamble.
