director

NORTH VANCOUVER Communi-
ty Arts Council honored its execu-
tive director with an award of
merit at its annual genera! meeting
for her past contribution to the arts
Organization.

Ella Parkinson, who served as
the ceuncil’s president from
1977-80, has worked with the
group for 18 years. During that
time she has been involved with
humerous community projects,
including the creation of Pres-
entation House.

In 1980 she became the coun-
cil’s executive director and con-
tinues to support such endeavors
as the arts council newsletter, arts
shows in oublic spaces, the mon-
thly picture rental program held in
Presentation House Gallery, and
the annual Folkfest Craft Fair.
