Leadership developed

North Shore YMCA _ Leaders
course,

The nationally-recognized pro-
gram is designed to feach lead-
ership ski! - and alow individuals
to contrib. : to the community
(hrough volunteer work.

There are three programs:
Leaders-in-Training for 12 to 14
year olds;. Leaders for 15 to 17
year olds; and Senior Leaders for
18 to 23 year olds,

With each program, partici-
pants gain valuable skilis and ex-

periences that give them the con-
fidence to succeed. In the ap-
Prenticeship section they have the
Opportunity to practise their
recently-learned skills.

Leaders-in-Training runs
Wednesdays from 5:30 to 7:30
p.m. and Leaders runs Wednes-
days from 6:30 to 9 p.m., begin-
ning Sept. 14. The fee is the pur-
chase of a youth membership.

Senior Leaders will start Mon-
day, Sept. 19 at 7 p.m.

All programs are held at the
West Vanconver YMCA, 1735
