At the end of the first period, NSWC held a commanding 3-1 lead. After a scoreless second period, scoring opened up in the third period. Two quick goals by both teams during the first eight minutes of the third period left the North Shore Winter Club team leading the semi-final game 5-3. Going into the first overtime period the score was 5-5. A goal by each team pul the score at 6-6 as the game went into the second period of overtime play. Richmond's Dean Richards put the puck in the net for the final sore of 7-6. Scoring players for NSWC were Justin George with two, and Todd Patz, Paul DeGruchy, Joha Cox and Scott Stirling each with one goal. George was also named to the allstar team for the four-day hockey tournament. : In the consolation round, the North Vancouver Recreation Centre team fought its way to the semi-final round by defeating Grandview in a close 5-4 game. {n the semi-final round, the Narth Vancouver Recreation Centre team fell to Vernon in a 5-2 game in three periods of play in the 24-year-old tournament. Richmond progressed to the A Division finals, but lost 6-5 to Co- quitlam. In the B Division finals North Kamloops trounced Windsor in a 9-4 game. Inthe Bantam AAA final in Burnaby, the NSWC representative skated to a 7-4 victory over the Williams Lake team in the tournament there recently. NSWC's Bobby Bell and Mark Kaufman were named to the allstar team. Kaufman was also named most valuable player for the tournament. NSWC was named the most sportsman-like team.
