Started in January, 1966, by Dr. John A. Hunt, it was one of the first Diabetes Education Programs in Canada. . Originally, the staff, con- sisting of a nurse and a dieti- tian, ran the day centre two Wednesdays a month. Then, as now, the centre provided an educational program as well as individual assess- ment.
