This particular gathering was in fact the fall meeting of the Seniors’ Health Consumer Council, and they work tire- Jessly on our behalf. “ All the business of falling ili or finding you have a defective part ... they consider all that their concern and set themselves to help you.” -- Thank goodness. _ Their meeting this time included examining hospital care. They area thoughtful bunch, this group, and had sent out beforehand a ques- tionnaire about hospital expe- - riences if any, and what you saw or felt there that could stand revising. Even if you hiad simply visited a sick friend and noted what you considered a failure in communication or a lack of attention, they were men and women, go to in order to keep the rest of us at courant, They learn the ropes and get the facts, So many of us, and 1] include myself, carry on, haven't a clue, assuming, that if the worst happens, and we end up needing help, we will somehow magically get into the right lineup and get put back together again. We're lucky they take the interest, committed as they are to putting us old people in our place, they mean by that the tight place, of course. Whether it’s housing or ‘entertaining or learning or our health, there are members of the comraunity who are inter- ested in finding out and letting us know, What would we do without them, because they make it their business to help us manage our lives when we get a bit long in the tooth. The North Shore Health Board and a few others undoubtedly have your num- ber, Be glad.
