Dear Editor:

- The -cat lover who is
having problems has the
solution at his fingertips. He
should: keep his cats . at
home. He must know it is
illegal to allow pets to run
free.

Each spring, when I plant
my garden, the worst pest I
must contéhd' with is my
neighbours’ cats. This year I
decided to forego. my radish
patch, and dug.a.4 by 8 foot
area-which I raked smooth
and soft for cats. The cats
walked acfoss the patch and
desecrated my lettuce as
usual, ©

A neighbour complained
when I set out slug bait. She
‘said, “My, cats may eat it.” I
pray they will.

I heartily endorse Alder-
man Hall's stand against city
council giving money to the
North Shore United under 16
soccer club to goto Denver..

I like soccer. In fact I
played on the same team as
Mr. Hall (he was an ex-
cellent goalkeeper), but I fail
to see why. the parents of
these boys should expect
others to help pay their way.

I doubt if these parents
would ‘ask their neighbours
for money, but because city
council is an impersonal
source of funds, they seem
to forget that  council’s
money is their neighbours’
money.
