An in-depth Table Hopping investigation of the Granite will appear in an up-coming episode. Corsi Connection Changes. In the last episode of the fabu- lous fiying Corsi Brothers (Mario and Antonio), the intrepid duo had opened a branch operation in Alberta — the 95-seat /! Portico in Edmonton — to add to their North Shore Corsi Trattoria, Park Royal Hotel and Cafe Roma restaurants. Now, the 19-year-old partner- ship that has helped put the North Shore on the West Coast map for quality Italian food has been rewired to allow the Antonio half of the duo to pursue a solo venture. To that end, Antonio has formed a partnership with his 20-year-old son Patrick and long-time Corsi associate Iqbal Grewal. The trio has opened Quattro on fourth (2611 West Fourth Ave. 734-4444) in the wild and competi- tive lands of Kitsilano. The Mario half of the Corsi con- nection has wished his brother well, confident that the food quality, ser- vice and overall ambience of the Corsis’ North Shore operations will be maintained in the capable hands of the restaurants’ staff, most of whom have been with the Corsis for years. Big pians are aiso in the works for both Corsi Trattoria and Cafe Roma. But that’s a tale for another episode.
