CAR SALES A NORTH Vancouver automobile dealership has taken a page out of some United States auto dealers’ ‘books and has done away with sales representatives in one sense. Specialty Motor Cars president Rosso Nairpour said that his dealership will now sell automobiles by the sticker price. “*"We still have sales people but what we've decided to do is just have one sticker price that is non-negotiable and that takes the sales pressure away from the cus- tomer,’’ said Nairpour. “We've kept the sales people but their role will now be to ex- plain te the customer about the vehicle.” ' Specialty Motor Cars has had the new concept in place since Aug. 4 and Nairpour said the new systern has received ‘‘really posi- tive results” from customers. Several automobile - dealerships in the United States have already sunday, August & 9, 1992 - North Shore News — 19 BUSINESS BRIEFS been experimenting with the idea of having one sticker price and doing away with sales repre- sentatives, The CNN TV network has also aired a story about the new change in the automobife industry. BANK PRESENTATION GARY BADER, North Shore area manager for the Royal Bank, recently presented a cheque for $1,000 to Randy Frost, executive director of the Nerth Shore Counselling Centre. The Royal Bank is a sponsor in the Supporter category for the fund-raising Hoedown which will be held at the Gleneagles Golf Club on Oct. 17. The North Shore Counselling Cenire is actively seeking the sup- port of other community-spirited businesses as a sponsor or a con- tributor of silent auction items. Funds raised provide counsell- ing help for low-income families in the local community who are dealing with stress, marital prob- lems and other issues. The Hoedown was a sold-out event last year when everyone donned cowboy duds, feasted on a western buffet and stomped to the music of No Mean Feat. MONDAY Avg. 10—to Aug. 14.
