There were 150 fady golfers tak- ing part, including CBC-TV news anchor Gloria Macarenko, Olym- pic skater Karen Magnussen with her mum and her skating teacher, Linda Brauchmann, Olympic sprinter Charmaine Crooks, and the ebullient blonde wife of CKNW's Rick Honey, Gale, who could be Wendy Lisogar’s sister and who helped Wendy with all the organizing and planning for the Fundraising tournament. She was playing in her first competi- tion as well. Following the fun day of golf in the sun, there was a giant ban- quet, auction and awards ceremo- ny at Club Mardi Gras in Roy Lisogar’s Century Plaza Hotel for about 450 guests. it was emceed by the irrepressi- ble Phil Reimer of CBC-TV, with auctioneering handled by lanky and loud John McKeachie of BCTV. who was particularly noisy on the auctioning off of Phil Reimer; CISL’s early morning man, Dor Percy; CKNW’s sports guy, Neil Macrae; and BCTV's weatherman, Norm Grohmann.
