Ladret goes to championships NORTH VANCOUVER’S Doug Ladret and Christine Hough of Waterloo, Ontario were named to the Canadian team to compete at the World Championships after winning a silver medal at the Ca- nadian figure skating champion- ships on Sunday in Sudbury, On- tario. Ladret and Hough will be going to Halifax for the World Champi- onships in March. In Sudbury, the pair repeated their runner-up per- formance of last year. In 1988 they won the gold medal. Also competing in the senior pairs, Jodi Barnes and Rob Williams of the North Shore Winter Club finished eighth overall. . In novice dance, Taryn O'Neill and Victor Kraatz of Hollyburn finished third, winning a bronze. Lori Tanizawa of the Winter Club placed seventh in junior women while team mates Tanya and Doug Avigdor finished 13th in novice pairs. Meanwhile Tanya Bingert, also from the Winter Club, placed ninth in the senior women and Susaa Humphreys coasted to 15th place overall in novice women.
