| LOCATED IN the heart of Vancouver’s garment district is the
Sample Room.

The Sample Room serves the garment industry by disposing of the
ever increasing amount of sample materials.

A variety of fabric may be purchased by the public Monday
through Sunday at wholesale prices. Because many of the samples
never reach the production stage, shopping at the Sample Room
becomes a rare opportunity to buy something unique.

Samples come from local manufacturers, and Vancouver’s proximi-
ty to the Pacific Rim has meant that many Hong Kong manufacturers
are moving into the area. This has helped spawn a whole new group
of manufacturers, importers and and designers — new businesses
looking for markets across Canada and the U.S. are opening weekly.

Since the Sample Room’s aim is to help the garment industry,
labels are never advertised. New shipments arrive daily so frequent
visits are recommended.
