Mailbox __ PRE XMAS SPECIAL Change will make difference Dear Editor: Once again the municipal elec- tions are over and residents have made their decision for six people to run their community. They have nade a positive choice. The aldermen elected for North Vancouver City for the next three years will provide city residents with a city council that is concern- ed about community issues — a council that cares about the resi- dents and invites their input. There are many people to thank for all the support I received dur- ing this election: the people who contributed both financially as well as with their time to deliver leaf- lets, phone, and talk to friends and neighbors; the North Shore News for their coverage of the election; and all the city residents who Thanks was heartwarming Dear Editor: During the course of the Remembrance Day service in West Vancouver, I laid a wreath on behalf of the Capilano Sport- smen’s Club and immediately after was approached by two bright and pretty little girls who told me, “Thank you for having gone to war for us.” Deeply moved, I could only mumble a few words in reply. If they read these lines, I want them to know how much I ap- preciated their action and their motive. It is indeed heartwarming to reflect that the youngsters of today can yet show gratitude towards those who 40-odd years ago fought in order that following generations might live in freedom. . W.F.
