Didier Maxime Paul Michot has been jailed for 16 months as a_i result of pleading guilty April 28 in North Van provincial court to 22 counts of false pretences. He had previously entered a guilty plea to a single charge of theft of $25,105 as a result of receiving cash advances from 80 customers for orders which were never met while he was operating a business at 152 Lonsdale, known variously as The Drape Factory, Vancouver Shade and Blind, Nuance and A Division of Berry Ventures Ltd. Judge John Layton sen- tenced him to 16 months for that offence too, the sen- tences to run concurrently. Michot, in conjunction with Lorraine Berry, ran the Lower Lonsdale business from January to June last year. Prosecution evidence showed that during the last half of May last year Michot drained company accounts of remaining funds.
