_The ninth Van Bantam Tournament provided five days packed with hockey excitement. Teams battled it out from as far away as Anchorage, Alaska to Portland, Nelson to Parksville. Finals day provided some of the most exciting match ups of the whole busy schedule. In the ‘Cc’ final West Vancouver triumphed 3-2 in a_ hard foughy contest. After fajing behind 3-Oin the first period, ‘B’ finalists Richmond — scored five unanswered goals to slip past Parksville to win the trophy. All Varsity View goals were scored while Shopper's Whoppers were — short- handed. In the overtime period, both goalkeepers were pulled by tournament organizers, but Varsity View won the toss for ring and controlled until they scored the winner into the empty net. The team returmed to the North Shore New Year's eve.
