Parry scored 161 goals and had 62 assists in 207 Western Lacrosse Association games over nine seasons before he retired in 1964. Parry, who turns 65 on July 14, is being recognized as a builder for 30 years as an exec- utive, manager or administra- tor with the Vancouver Burrards. Since 1996 he has been on the club’s alumni board. . “I’m elated,” he said. “I’ve played with lots of great reams and lots of great players.” Parry played for three Mann Cap-winning Vancouver Burrards’ teams in the 1960s. That team, which is also known as the Vancouver Carlings, is being inducted in the outstanding team category. When he’s inducted to the New Westmainster-based shrine this fall, Parry will be among 358 hall of fame members, including 115 builders. TOM Boettger has been named head coach of Capilano College’s bad- minton team. Bocttger replaces Janice Swansburg as the Blues’ coach who leit to devote more time to her badminton profession. “Tom has a reputation of being an excellent piayer devel- opment coach,” says Joe Tacobeliis, Capilano Coilege’s Cap gets new coach athletic director. “He has the : contacts and the skills to take our badminton program to another level next year.” Boettger is the badminton professional at Vancouver's Arbutus Club and the sports development coordinator for Badminton B.C.
